Denver – Where to Get Your “Boom-Boom POW” on this 4th of July!

Hurray for Independence Day! People all over the Denver area are trying to figure out which fireworks display they will be attending this Fourth of July. Although this is one of the most exciting times of the year for residents in Colorado, there is a growing concern about fire hazards surrounding some firework displays, and because of this, each year we have several cities and counties that postpone or cancel their displays. These are most typically in the mountains and in places that are close to recent fire stricken areas. With that being said, there are still plenty of displays taking place in and around the City of Denver that promise big BOOMS and huge POWS!  Here is our list of the biggest and best, as well as cancelled, firework displays in the Front Range area.

Remember to bring a blanket or chairs, snacks, bottled water, and ear protection (for the little ones) to help make whichever event you choose to go to fun and comfortable for the whole family.  Also don’t forget about the parking nightmare that is ANY Fourth of July celebration.  So, come early and stay late, or plan to walk or ride your bikes, to help prevent traffic from building up.

ARVADA – Join the City of Arvada at the Stenger Sports Field for their Fourth of July Community Festival.  The celebration starts at 4 pm and the fireworks display is scheduled for 9 pm.

AURORA – The City of Aurora will be hosting their display at 9:45 pm at the Aurora Municipal Center.

BOULDER – *This is one of the best shows the Front Range has to offer, so if you are in the mood to head to Boulder, we highly suggest coming to the University of Colorado’s Folsom Field for their display scheduled to start as soon as it gets dark.  

BRIGHTON – Fireworks will be located in Carmichael Park and will begin promptly at dusk.

BROOMFIELD – *I love this fireworks display and Fourth of July celebration!  The festivities begin at 5:30 pm with the kid’s bike parade.  After that, enjoy jump castles, food vendors, and live music.  Fireworks are scheduled to go off at 9:30 pm.  Located at the Broomfield County Commons Park, this event is always packed!  Remember to bring your flashlights and designate a meeting area since this park and the festivities are enormous!

CASTLE ROCK – CANCELED

COLORADO   SPRINGS – CANCELED

COMMERCE CITY – This great event at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park follows the Colorado Rapids game and is scheduled to begin at 9:50 pm.

DENVER – This event is scheduled for JULY 3rd, but is hands down the best fireworks display in the area! The Independence Eve Celebration at Civic Center Park features a live concert performed by the Colorado Symphony, a spectacular light show, tons of other festivities, and of course, all the “Boom-Boom POW” you could ever want!  

EDGEWATER – CANCELED

ENGLEWOOD – Good times for family can be had here at the Annual Family Festival & Fireworks event located in Belleview Park and Cornerstone Park.

ESTES PARK – Fireworks are scheduled to go off at 9:30 pm right over Lake Estes.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS – Join them at dusk at Two Rivers Park.

GOLDEN – CANCELED

GREELEY – Fireworks begin at 10 pm at Island Grove Park.

HIGHLANDS RANCH – CANCELED

IDAHO SPRINGS: This July Fourth Celebration will be a tribute to military heroes and goes from 2 pm to midnight at Citizens Park.  Fireworks will start at about 9:15 pm.

LAFAYETTE – Join the City of Lafayette at Waneka Lake around dusk for their display.

LITTLETON – There are events currently on schedule for Belleview, Progress and Cornerstone Parks, but with restrictions on alcohol, personal fireworks and pets.

LONE TREE – CANCELED

LONGMONT- Hosted at the Boulder County Fairgrounds this display is scheduled for 9:30 pm.

LOVELAND – *This event promises a long show with a huge grand finale and starts at 9:20 pm over Lake Loveland.

LOUISVILLE- *Located at the Coal Creek Golf Course, this event begins at 6 pm and will go until 10 pm. Please bring your families and friends for live music, balloons, face painting, and tons of great food vendors.  

NEDERLAND – *Is hosting an energy efficient LED self generated light show!  They are encouraging people to bring their own sources of eco-friendly lights to shine in the sky.  Come and enjoy a fire free experience, Nederland style!

NORTHGLENN – Fireworks are scheduled to 9:30 pm at Webster Lake, however the city has stated that if they have not started by 10 pm, they have been postponed until the next night for the same time.

PARKER – CANCELLED

THORNTON – *Another must see show here!  Starting around 9:30 pm this event features a “nighttime patriotic parachute jump by Mile Hi Skydiving,” live music, food and family fun at Carpenter Park‘s Multipurpose Fields.  I have seen this one from a distance several times and each year it looks cooler and runs longer than any other show around!

WESTMINSTER – Join them at City Park around 9:15 pm.
