A Special Thank You To All That Attended The 20th Annual CMN Golf Tournament
The feeling in the air was joyous, the smiles on everyone’s faces were bright, and the weather could not have more gorgeous! This year’s 20th Annual Children’s Miracle Network Golf Tournament and Auction hosted on October 1st, 2013 at the Invernss Golf Club. Presenting sponsors Colorado Mortgage Alliance and Heritage Title Company along with all of the hole and red wagon sponsors who support this event every year, were a large reason the event was a huge success! Thanks to the donations made by our wonderful golfers, event sponsors, Jersey Mikes, Tommyknockers, and of course, the very gracious Inverness Hotel and Golf Resort we were able once again come together for this amazing cause.
With the glorious fresh breeze and shining sun hitting our faces, the event kicked off with a greeting by RE/MAX Alliance Founder and Owner, Chuck Ochsner thanking everyone for helping contribute to the 2013 Children’s Miracle Network Golf Tournament and the Children’s Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. This cause, which has grown very near and dear to the RE/MAX Alliance family over its 20 years would not be possible without people like Kim Hawkins and so many others who have worked endlessly on every detail to raise nearly 1 million dollars for CMN during that time. Even though the final numbers are not in yet, the event was a tremendous success, which is all due to the gracious donations made by so many of you. So, THANK YOU!
Some very exciting silent auction items were on the table like a framed photo of Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley, an array of hotel stays in the Denver area, and several golf packages from prestigious local clubs and resorts. The live auction portion of the event included several amazing items up for grabs like a Daytona Beach Condo package, Sanctuary Golf package, a trip to New York City, a Peyton Manning signed helmet, a John Elway signed football and a Todd Helton signed jersey. Our own Phil Shell, Stan Sauerwein, Chad & Becca Ochsner, Gracie Casias, and Arlene Carper dug in deep and opened their hearts to the children and families who will benefit from the event by opening their wallets and winning themselves some spectacular auction items. Nicki Thompson also won the cork drop, which was performed in style off a 10 story ladder truck courtesy of the South Metro Fire Department, and the help of Beth Warden, and Liz Leos who dropped the corks into a wading pool!
The 20th Annual Children’s Miracle Network Golf Tournament was not only a great time to be had by all, but it was a reminder that every individual can make a difference and as a whole we can move mountains! We were blessed to have Christian there with us all day and hope Peyton had a fun tennis practice, which is something doctors never thought she would be able to do again before she was treated for a second time at Children’s Hospital.
Again, a huge thank you to: all the businesses that offered up items to the Children’s Miracle Network Auction, our wonderful event and hole sponsors, our amazing players who come year after year to the tournament and auction (even when it gets rescheduled last minute), our team of dedicated behind the scenes staff, Tommyknockers, Jersey Mike’s, the wonderful Inverness Hotel and Golf Resort, our Children’s Miracle Network coordinators, the Ochsner Family, Kim Hawkins, and of course, the amazing kids whose smiling faces make it all worthwhile!!!
