SummerFEST Madness is Almost Here!!!!

When I think of summer and all the reasons we immediately love it, I can’t help but start singing some DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince’s Summertime. To me, this song invokes the summertime feel and culture we all, so eagerly, wait for each year. After all, being outside just, “finding the time to sit back and unwind” with your family and friends is what it’s all about. So whether you like to celebrate music (see my tie-in to the song!), art, culture, fitness or just some random Frozen Dead Guy, Colorado is the place to be for summer fun and festivals this 2014. Check out all the great festivals coming to our state below:

DENVER CHALK ART FESTIVAL – May 31-June 1 – Larimer Square, Denver

See the streets of Larimer Square be transformed into little Italy!  Over 150 professional and amateur artists will feature their brightly colored and amazing detailed work.   

CAPITOL HILL PEOPLE’S FAIR – June 7-8 – Civic Center Park, Denver

The festival is a celebration of Denver’s diverse urban community and is fun for the whole family. Offering a healthy mix of everything that makes being a member of Denver’s community a good thing, this is a must for most!

TELLURIDE BLUEGRASS – June 19-22 – Telluride

This festival is by far one of Colorado most famous and is loved by both young and old. The four day event is already sold out so I hope you have your tickets!

GREELEY STAMPEDE – June 26-July 6 – Greeley

Come and see what one of the world’s best rodeo shows is all about. Headliners for this year’s stampede are: Justin Moore, Credence Clearwater Revisited, Montgomery Gentry and Luke Bryan.

PIKES PEAK AIRSTRIP ATTACK – June 27-28 – Airport, Colorado Springs

Love cars? Love fast cars even more? Then don’t miss this amazing event in the Springs at the end of June! 

INDEPENDENCE EVE – July 3 – Civic Center Park, Denver

This massive event is one of the largest free community events the city of Denver hosts each year. It features a spectacular light show, stunning fireworks and musical performances by The Colorado Symphony right on the steps of the Capitol Building!

THE ROCKIES FIREWORKS – July 3-6 – Coors Field, Denver

Going on for three days, this event is fun for both kids and adults. Be sure to check out the cheap tickets in the Rockpile!

COLORADO BLACK ARTS FESTIVAL – July 11-13 – City Park West, Denver

Celebrating African-American heritage, this exciting three day festival features arts, jewelry and other cultural delights, in addition to a wide selection of live music!

BOHEMIAN NIGHTS AT NewWestFest – August 15-17 – Downtown Fort Collins

Over 70 Colorado bands take over the streets of Downtown Fort Collins for this FREE three day music event. Spread out across six different stages, you can spend all day roaming from one band to the next, while also checking out some awesome local art, food, and brews along the way. 

USA PRO CHALLENGE – August 18-24 – (See Below for locations)

Celebrating our fourth year, the USA Pro Challenge is schedule to hit the following cities: Aspen, Snowmass, Crested Butte, Gunnison, Monarch, Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, Breckenridge, Vail, Boulder and Denver.

COLORADO STATE FAIR – August 22-September 1 – Pueblo

Located less than two hours south of Denver, The Colorado State Fair in Pueblo sees people from all over the country and features all the fun fair food you can imagine! 

NEDFEST – August 22-24 – Nederland

If you love microbrews, art and jam bands, like the String Cheese, then get your ticket today for NedFest, they sell out quick!

JAS LABOR DAY EXPERIENCE – August 29-31 – Aspen, CO

Previously known as the Aspen JAS Fest, this summer event “experience” is in its 24th year and will feature famous bands and musicians such as: FUN, Ziggy Marley, Earth, Wind & Fire, One Republic, Nickel Creek and Carrie Underwood.

COLORADO BALLOON CLASSIC – August 30-September 1 – Memorial Park, Colorado Springs

If you have never been, the Balloon Classic is quite a sight!  Watch hundreds of balloons take flight in the morning and enjoy food and festivities in the evening. This is our favorite festival by far, can you guess why? 

A TASTE OF COLORADO – August 30-September 1 – Civic Center Park, Denver

Nearly 500,000 Colorado residents will celebrate our amazing state’s unique culture with A Taste of Colorado! Browse through hundreds of vendors, taste amazing food and relish in the fact that you live in the best state ever!
