Colorful, Wonderful, Fall Decor!

We are just a few days away from the official start of fall here in the beautiful state of Colorado and you can definitely feel the change of the season! For weeks now all the local shops and stores have been selling their Halloween candy, decorative pumpkins, and witch hats, but, there is no bigger indication that summer is over than when the first snow hits the Rocky Mountains. With colder and colder nights ahead of us, most people have started putting away their summer decor and clothes and breaking out their favorite cozy fall designs. Here are some of our favorite fall trends for 2025:
1. Add a punch of fall color!
When most people think of fall, they envision things like burnt orange, chocolate brown, rust red, deep purple, and mustard yellow; although these colors are great, they may not exactly fit with your current decor. So instead of going all out by painting your walls and buying new couches, try using subtle punches of color in accent pieces like pillows, afghans, flowers, mirrors, and wall hangings.
2. Get natural with your decor!
Fall is the perfect time to bring the outdoors in. Whether it is clipping branches from a changing tree and displaying them in vase, arranging a variety of decorative wood logs together on an end table, or simply putting pine cones, gourds or apples in a decorative bowl for a centerpiece, natural decorations are a simple, traditional and inexpensive way to spruce up your home for the season.
3. Pump it up with lots of pumpkins!
The more pumpkins the better! There are literally thousands of things you can do with a pumpkin to transform it from just your average over-sized vegetable into a brilliant work of fall art. Try painting them gold and adding sparkles or painting them black and white for a ghostly theme. You can also group them on tables with candles, line your front steps with them, etch them instead of carving them, make a wreath out of tiny ones, or make a topiary out of large one. Either way, pumpkins are pretty much universally synonymous with Halloween and fall, and are a must-have when it comes to seasonal decor.
4. Adorn your front door and step!
The front entrance of your home is one of the best places to feature seasonal decorations and is a great place to expand on any one of the ideas mentioned above. Something as simple as a hay barrel decorated with different kinds of pumpkins, a few purple mums, and bunches of Indian corn is really all you need, but the sky’s the limit!!!
5. Serve seasonal fall fare!
A few seasonal favorites include things like fresh made apple sauce, butternut squash soup, fig stuffed pork loin, spiced pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, roasted beets and parsnips, and creamed mashed sweet potatoes. The aromas and flavors of fall cuisine will add to the ambiance you have created with your new fall decor and will warm your belly at the same time.
