Annual CMN golf tournaments yields record-breaking year!

Meet Noah. He’s 9 years old, and like any typical kid, loves to play baseball, and brags about hitting three home runs in one game last season. You wouldn’t know it, but just five years ago Noah wasn’t able to play baseball, let alone function at all like most normal kids.
At the very early age of four, Noah was diagnosed with epilepsy. Noah’s parents, Shannon and Jake, remember all too clearly the day they witnessed the first of many debilitating seizures Noah would endure over the next few years.
Add to that, a heart murmur, for which young Noah was rushed to surgery to correct, shortly after his seizures slowly became worse. At one point he was experiencing up to 100 seizures a day, and was medically induced into a coma; his parents decided the risky procedure of brain surgery to remove the part of Noah’s brain affected by the epilepsy.
The surgery was a success, in large part due to the tremendous team of doctors and staff at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Originally, Noah and his family lived in Wisconsin, but upon learning of Noah’s health conditions, his parents relocated to Denver to be closer to Children’s.
Noah has now been seizure-free for almost five years. As a result, Noah was named this year’s Children’s Miracle Champion for the state of Colorado.
As an avid supporter of Children’s Miracle Network, the non-profit organization that raises funds for Children’s Hospitals across the country, RE/MAX Alliance is proud to announce a record-breaking year from the two annual company golf tournaments!
Between the two events, RE/MAX Alliance was able to raise a net of $106,217 for Children’s Hospital Colorado!
The first event, the Swinging “fore” Miracles Golf Tournament was held on Monday, July 13th, at the Fort Collins County Club in Fort Collins, Colo. The day includes a round of 18 holes, followed by a dinner and silent auction.
With a similar format, the second tournament, the Alliance Golf for Kids tournament, was held on Monday Aug. 24th, at the Red Rocks Country Club in Morrison, Colo.
Tournament coordinators, Kim Hawkins and Sonia Nelson, both shared their joy and excitement for such a successful year at their fund-raising events.
“I’m beyond excited, thrilled and humbled. Thanks to a fabulous committee, committed sponsors, wonderful volunteers, generous golfers, and all who donated either by bidding on auction items or simply buying a wine cork number,” said Hawkins.
This year marks the 22nd year that RE/MAX Alliance has been hosting golf tournaments to raise funds for Children’s. In addition to the two golf tournaments, RE/MAX Alliance associates donate portions of their commissions to the Miracle Home Program, allowing RE/MAX Alliance to raise roughly $120,000 annually for CMN.
Additionally, RE/MAX agents across the nation donate to the Miracle Home program. Since its inception in 1992, RE/MAX agents have contributed over $138 million to their local Children’s Hospital.
