For those of us concerned with the safety of small children, and/or pets, having a fence is important.

In some cities there has been a 60% increase in demand. The preferred material is wood. Thus, the price of pressure-treated wood is about triple what it cost at the beginning of 2020.  However,  wood requires upkeep and repair.

PVC and other plastic fence materials also are growing more popular. Metal fences comprise about 2% of the market share.

Please keep in mind that if you’re considering a fence make sure to follow approval protocols before installation.  Check to see if you need to first get approval from your community’s homeowners association. Perhaps you need to get a survey completed prior to avoid any future boundary disputes with neighbors. And get a permit from your municipality before getting a fence.
