Civic Center Park – National Historic Landmark Offers Summer Fun For All!

The Civic Center in Denver, Colorado was originally designed not only to be beautiful, but to be the center of Denver’s thriving culture.  Nowadays, this magnificent building and its 12 acre campus is that and so much more to the modern population.  The building itself is one of the most grandiose architectural displays in the nation, which is why earlier in the year it became one of only two city civic centers in the entire country to be named as a National Historic Landmark.  The criteria for such an honor defined the Denver Civic Center as a “nationally significant historic place… because [it] possesses exceptional value or quality in illustrating the heritage of the United States.”  And, if you have ever been there for a tour or to one of its events, you know it is so true!

This wonderful acknowledgement put our beloved Civic Center right up there with some of the most famous structures in America’s history like the Alamo, the Empire State Building and the Library of Congress.  With this recent recognition and a calendar full of summer events, there is no better time than now to plan a visit to the City of Denver’s most historical place.

Here are just a few upcoming Civic Center Park dates to mark down on your calendar for 2013:
