Reputation Worthy – Louisville, Colorado

As the school buses picked up kids this morning for what would be the first or second day of school for Louisville residents, I look back to the summer past and really understand why numerous magazines have declared Louisville one of the best places to live in the nation.  The Street Faire alone this year was one of the best regularly scheduled festivals in the Front Range.  In fact, last Friday’s extravagant final show and faire featured the best of best that Louisville, and the surrounding communities, have to offer.  The feel was jovial and the streets were packed!  Literally herds of people extended from the pavilion on Front Street down Walnut, all along Main Street, and back down Pine Street with cars parked all the way to the dog park! We had the pleasure of snapping off several pictures from the event which we hope you will enjoy in this short video!

Folks in town are also looking forward to the upcoming Labor Day Annual Fall Festival scheduled for September 2nd, 2013! This event will feature a parade, bocce tournament, the Coal Creek Crossing 5k, 10 Mile, and Kids Fun Run, a senior dinner, a dog show and pet parade, a car show, an old fashioned pie eating contest, tons of food vendors, and great company. Also don’t forget about the sidewalk sale this weekend, the Louisville Farmers Market which is held every Saturday, and the Buona Sera Tuesday evening market which is open until mid-fall.

Of course, seasonal fun is not the only reason why this city has gained so much popularity.  Things like economic development, employment opportunities, a relatively lower cost of living, and an extremely high quality of life are all things synonymous with the quaint small town of Louisville, Colorado. One of the biggest developments for the city in the next few years will be the redevelopment of the old Safeway shopping center to what will be the second location of the popular local natural grocers, Alfalfa’s Market. To outsiders, they might be thinking, “so what?”, but to locals most of us are elated as Alfalfa’s offers a truly unique food experience. The plans for this redevelopment also call for Boulder real estate developer, Jim Loftus, to construct a 111 unit luxury apartment complex, a parking structure, and about 33,700 square feet of retail space in total. Understanding that these plans might not have been viewed the same by everyone in the community, the City of Louisville took over 18 months to approve a plan that will limit the construction to no higher than 3 stories and break it up into three buildings.  The hope of the city is to create an upscale environment and additional commerce, while not jeopardizing the integrity of the community dynamic and feel.

This next year, the City of Louisville is gearing up for one of the most exciting phases in the city’s development and more recognition in the value of the area’s real estate and lifestyle opportunities!
