You should Stage your Home Before Putting it on the Market

Home Prices are Still Rising Slowly. Let’s start with home prices. Overall, home prices grew slower in 2019 (3.3%) than in 2018 (5%). 2020 is predicted to raise 2.8%, Danielle Hale, realtor.com chief economist: ‘We expect sales to grow 7 percent and prices to rise another 5.7 percent on top of 2020’s already high levels. Single-family housing starts are expected to grow another 9 percent in 2021.’ Which is awesome for sellers AND buyers! With that will you be looking the market? Sometimes to get top price for your home is how you will present it. Experts say that staging your home is the best short term investment!

“Your Home should tell the story of who you are, and be a Collection of what you Love.” ― Nate Berkus, The Things That Matter

You’ll Increase the Likelihood for a Sale

Selling your home, the goal here is to sell and at top price for your market. You can increase your chances for success if you stage your house before listing it on the MLS and taking great photos. The idea of staging your home is to “up sell” your home, and to present your home in the best possible light. If you do this, buyers will be more likely to make an offer.

It will Give the Impression of a Well-Maintained Home

This is the whole idea, you want to present a well- maintained home, you have a different taste then the next person. While yes, your home could be well maintained the person who is looking at it to be their next potential home is thinking otherwise. They’ll want to feel comfortable inside the home. They also want to make sure that it meets all of their needs from a structural standpoint. If you stage your house effectively, it will give buyers the impression of a well-maintained home. Basic repairs are the first step in any home-staging plan. You start by fixing what’s broken.

Again this is all important at the end of the day. Things you should think about while listing your home, on this competitive market. Staging will give every room a story, and help potential buyers think outside of the box and create there’s. You still need to determine the fair market value for your home. Home buyers and their real estate agents will use CMA data to justify your asking price. But they’ll also be influenced by their emotions. If they walk through the house and see a number of things that need to be repaired or replaced, they may question your asking price. Your goal as a Realtor or stager is to get the seller or buyer the best price for them, because its the best interest of the consumer!

Using a professional stager is important because they’ll know how to use certain tones, textures, items in areas that are primarily focused while the walkthrough, or photos are happening. The consumer will have a different eye, for every room. 2021 will be the year of extraordinary interior design concepts.
